REGISTRATION NOTICE

TO STUDENTS OF STREATOR TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL

2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR

• Students should report as follows to pay fees and should register on the day and time assigned.  Enter the main entrance on Lincoln Avenue.  Registration will take place in the Commons.  Please make sure fees are paid by Friday, August 6, 2010, to avoid confusion on the first day of school.  If for any reason you are unable to pay on these dates, arrangements must be made and a fee waiver form must be filled out by Friday, September 24, 2010. 

Time slots for registration are divided by classes as follows:

Seniors            Wednesday, August 4^th           8:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.

Juniors           Wednesday, August 4^th          12:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.

Sophomores   Thursday, August 5^th                          8:00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.

Freshmen       Thursday, August 5^th             12:00 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.

            Optional Registration Time for All Grades – Thursday, August 5^th     - 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Late registration will be held Friday, August 6^th and Monday, August 9^th through Thursday, August 12^th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon in the Main Office.

Please note, families with more than one student may register all siblings with the oldest student in the family.

Students transferring to SHS can pick up the proper forms in the Guidance Office as soon as possible. 

If you have any questions regarding your student transferring to SHS, please contact the Guidance Office at ext. 5003 immediately.     

• The registration fees for each student are $150.  The fees are for class dues and book rentals, and must be paid before entering school.  (This fee does not include school yearbooks.)

If your student is eligible for FREE OR REDUCED LUNCH, his/her school fees will be waived or reduced.  Call SHS for further details at 672-0545, ext. 2480.

• Yearbook orders will be taken at the time of registration with the cost being $40.  If yearbook is not ordered by Monday, January 3, 2011, cost is increased to $45.

• Driver Education Fees are $50.  (Must be paid at registration and is mandatory for students taking Driver Education.)

• Student Parking

Students wishing to park in the student parking lot during school hours must purchase a parking permit at registration.  The cost of a student parking permit is $15 for the school year.  In order to purchase a permit, you must present a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

 Students without a permit will not be allowed to use the student parking lot during school hours.  Students who violate the new student parking procedures will be subject to parking tickets and potential towing.

• Insurance

School Time Insurance Coverage  $64.00  (optional)

 24 Hour Coverage Insurance $ 248.00       (optional)

Insurance is mandatory for students participating in sports.  Parents who currently have coverage for their student may sign an insurance waiver.  If the student is not currently covered by insurance, he/she must purchase school insurance.  Football insurance is not covered in the School Time or 24 Hour insurance listed above.  If the student is participating in football and is not currently covered by insurance, football insurance must be purchased at a cost of $167.00

• I.D. Pictures/School Pictures will be taken on August 4^th and 5^th during registration – SCHOOL DRESS CODE APPLIES.  Students who will not be able to register on those 2 days will have their I.D./School Pictures taken after school begins.  An announcement will be made after school starts as to what day this will be.

• FRESHMEN are required to present on a health card at registration showing that a physical has been completed, or proof of an appointment scheduled, in accordance with the SCHOOL CODE OF ILLINOIS.  All freshmen will also need to bring with them a completed Emergency Service Card, if not already on file.  These completed forms must be presented to the school nurse.

• ORIENTATION FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR FRESHMEN/NEW STUDENTS – Friday, August 13

8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

• FIRST FULL DAY OF SCHOOL FOR ALL STUDENTS – Monday, August 16

8:00 a.m. – 2:25 p.m.

• BUSSES will run for freshmen students on Friday, August 13^th and for all students starting Monday, August 16, 2010
