BUS INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS                        

OF STREATOR TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL

Streator Township High School will be running five (5) bus routes for the 2010-2011 school year.

As stated in Chapter 122, Article 29, Section 3 of the School Code of Illinois, Streator districts, “…shall provide free transportation for pupils residing at a distance of one and one-half (1 ½) miles or more from any school to which they are assigned for attendance maintained within the district…”

 

The one and one-half (1 ½) mile distance is measured form the Streator Township High School parking lot.  The various points in the town that are 1 ½ miles from Streator Township High School are as follows:

a.                   SHS to Illinois and Lundy Streets

b.                  SHS to 919 E. Livingston St.

c.                   SHS to 219 Penn St. & Watson St.

d.                  SHS to E. Wilson St. & Colorado St.

e.                   SHS to Tenth St. & Center St.

f.                   SHS to Eleventh St. & Bloomington St.

g.                  SHS to 911 S. Vermillion St.

h.                  SHS to Sundown St. & Columbus Rd

i.                    SHS to Reading St. & Clark St. (Riverside)

j.                    SHS to 910 North Otter Creek Rd

k.                  SHS to Otter Creek Road & E. Hickory St.

l.                    SHS to end of East Broadway at Fuller Ave.

m.                SHS to 917 Painter St.

n.                  SHS to 1001 Johnson St.

o.                  SHS to 1005 Jackson St.

p.                  SHS to Frech St. & Cross St. (includes Frech St. Housing Project)

q.                  SHS to Richards St. & Chicago St.

r.                    SHS to 511 W. Third St.

s.                   SHS to end of North Wasson St.

 

Any student living within the above addresses, less than 1 ½ miles from SHS is NOT eligible to ride a bus.

Students living at the above addresses or beyond the 1 ½ radius as described above, are eligible to ride a bus for the 2010-2011 school year.

All bus drivers will have a list of eligible bus students for their route, and will make a thorough check of students as they enter the bus.  Respective students should have some form of identification to present.

If you have any questions concerning eligibility, please call the high school at 672-0545 and ask to speak to the person in charge of bus transportation.
